This notice explains what information the Merchan Films website handles, why it is used, and how to ask questions about it. Merchan Films is an owner-run video and photography studio serving Orange County, California.

Information you choose to send

The inquiry form asks for your name and email address, along with project details that help Michael prepare a useful reply. Some service-specific forms also require a phone number and preferred contact method; optional fields are identified as such. If you use a Calendly link, the information you enter there is handled through Calendly's scheduling service.

Website and analytics data

If you allow analytics, the site uses Google Analytics and Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand visits, page performance, and which parts of the site are useful. If you allow advertising measurement, Meta Pixel and privacy-controlled server events help connect campaigns to completed inquiries and bookings. Those services may process technical information such as device type, browser, approximate location, referring page, campaign parameters (such as UTM values and advertising click IDs), and on-site interactions such as scroll depth, button clicks, form progress, and video playback milestones. When optional measurement is allowed, campaign attribution is kept in first-party browser storage so a visit can be assessed from its ad through its outcome. After you explicitly submit an inquiry or complete a booking, and only when advertising measurement is allowed, contact fields may be normalized, hashed, and sent server-side to Meta for conversion matching. The site does not put names, email addresses, phone numbers, property addresses, venue details, or inquiry message text into browser analytics events, and it does not ask for precise device location, camera access, or microphone access.

How information is used

Inquiry information is used to respond, discuss availability, prepare a plan or quote, provide requested services, prevent form abuse, and maintain necessary business records. Website analytics are used to improve the site's content, accessibility, reliability, and marketing.

Service providers

Cloudflare hosts and protects the site, Google provides analytics, Meta provides advertising measurement, Resend delivers inquiry emails, and Calendly provides scheduling and may process payments through Michael's connected payment provider. Merchan Films does not receive raw payment-card details. These providers process information only as part of supplying their services and operate under their own privacy terms.

Retention and your choices

Inquiry drafts are kept for up to seven days in this browser and in secure website storage so you can recover after a reload. A necessary, HttpOnly browser cookie lasts 30 days and authorizes access to your own inquiry. Inquiry contact details are removed from website storage after one year; delivery payloads are removed after 30 days. Opaque delivery and payment references are retained to prevent duplicate processing. Email inboxes, Calendly and signed business records have separate retention processes. You can recover an inquiry at /inquiry-recovery/ and request deletion by contacting Michael. You can avoid sending optional form fields, choose “Essential only,” reopen Privacy choices from the footer, use browser controls to limit measurement, or ask to access, correct, or delete information you previously submitted.

Children's information

This business website and its inquiry form are intended for adults arranging services. Do not use the form to send sensitive information about a child. School and youth media is handled privately with the responsible organization or adult.
