School photography, without the assembly line

Modern portraits, athletics coverage, and campus marketing images that feel like your students and your school — polished, natural, and ready for every place families see you.

School films

Photo and video belong in one campus story.

Admissions, athletics, advancement, and families all need different cuts of the same real community. We plan the coverage once, then build media that works across your website, social channels, presentations, and season recaps.

How it works

A school media day that feels organized, not manufactured.

Merchan Films works with Orange County schools that want polished media without flattening every student into the same template. Michael leads the project from planning through delivery, so the visual language stays consistent whether the assignment is an admissions film, an athletics story, senior portraits, or a campus image library.

Before shoot day, we define who the media is for, where it will appear, and which moments matter most. That gives administrators one clear schedule and gives students room to look like themselves. English and Spanish interviews are available, and FAA Part 107-licensed drone coverage can be included when the campus and airspace allow it.

01

Plan the campus day

We identify audiences, locations, student groups, permissions, interview needs, and a realistic schedule before anyone arrives with a camera.

02

Capture real participation

Portraits are guided without becoming rigid. Video coverage follows real classes, teams, and community moments, supported by focused interviews when the story needs them.

03

Deliver for every channel

You receive organized, web-ready files with clear usage and delivery expectations—plus social crops or film cutdowns when they are part of the scope.

Questions, answered

Can one project include both school photography and video?

Yes. Combining them creates a more consistent admissions or marketing library and reduces the disruption of scheduling separate production days.

Do you photograph athletics and senior programs?

Yes. Coverage can include individual portraits, teams, games, season highlights, graduation milestones, and recruiting-focused athlete media.

How do you work around a school schedule?

We build a shot plan around bells, classes, practices, campus access, and the people who must be present. The goal is a productive day with minimal interruption.

Can interviews be produced in Spanish?

Yes. Michael can conduct and produce interviews in English and Spanish, which is especially useful for parent and community stories.
