I'm Michael Merchan, the founder of Merchan Films. Here at Merchan Films, we're all about quality and excellence in our productions. With a decade of experience under my belt, I'm driven, dedicated, and passionate about creating impactful content and managing exponential growth through visual storytelling.
Originally from the beautiful "La isla del encanto," Puerto Rico, my journey into storytelling began when I was just 14 years old, navigating the world of track athletics. Starting with documenting my training and competitions, I gradually found myself crafting videos that resonated with my friends and community. Over time, my passion for storytelling evolved, with a keen focus on achieving that coveted "cinematic look" in my work.
This passion led me to move from Puerto Rico to California in 2014, and pursue a career in film production, culminating in a Bachelor's Degree in Cinema and Television Arts with an emphasis in Film Production from California State University, Northridge.

Brand films, school and athletics stories, real-estate media, portraits, weddings, and campaign photography across Orange County and Southern California.
How far in advance should we book?
For weddings and larger productions, reach out as early as possible. Smaller portrait and content sessions can often be scheduled within a few weeks.
Do you offer bilingual coverage?
Yes. Merchan Films can work in English and Spanish, from the first conversation through interviews and production.
